My very creative Twitter pals @prcog – founder of the upcoming Masquertweet, @ssmirnov – PR Mama extraordinaire, @tcammett – unabashed fan of a rousing poetry slam, and dozens of others in Twitterville are honing their rhyming skills for showcasing in a 140 character world.
The origins of the Twitter Haiku remain a mystery but Flying Dog Brewery used it effectively in a UGC contest, and now Yoko Ono has been named official judge for a Brit UGC contest.
My humble contribution to Twitter Haiku meme began as an ode to @prcog.
Ode to tweet pal Cog – Fan of Quisp-y matzo brands – Masquertweet for life #haiku #Twaiku
Which spawned his reply and subsequent blog post here:
As promised-#haiku4u. Spring has awoken/Colgate girl forgets. Twitter/finds Vit. King Castle
And as things morph and change in a social world, the Haiku has now become a FlackLimerick throw down! @ssmirnov eloquently writes:
What is a Flack Limerick, you ask? A glimpse inside the thrilling life of an agency PR person, expressed in poorly-written verse. This is the second in what may just — if you’re very lucky — become a series. Thanks to PRCog and karyncooks, my Twitter pals, for introducing the concept. Finally, a way to exercise my liberal arts background.
Today the FlackLimerick makes use of 12seconds.tv to spread the rhyme. The perfect cocktail of content + brevity + technology + relationships. We’re sharing ours – now please share yours with Twitterville using #FlackLimerick and #TweetSlam.

[...] And for those of you dying to know the origins of all this silliness (and surely, you are), see Karyn’s chronology (and her video throw-down) here. [...]
